What Is Health Coaching?

As an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach I act as a guide, helping you create new, healthy habits, let go of unhealthy behaviors, transform your health goals into realities & ultimately become your own most powerful version. I help you identify potential stumbling blocks & hold you accountable for your health behaviors so that you have the best chance of reaching your goals. By teaching you the skills you need to live a healthy life, health coaching can significantly lower long-term medical expenditures.

We all need the doctor if we are sick but unfortunately doctors do not have the time to sit with patients every other week and go in detail through their health history and that is where a Nutrition Health Coach like me comes in (I don’t diagnose or prescribe medication) but together we create achievable, lifelong goals that works for you.

After years of research the health industry has finally concluded that no one diet works for everyone, we are all different and one person’s food can be another person’s poison.  Did you know that 98% of all dieters gain the weight back? And that the average person makes the same New Year’s resolution ten separate times without success?

It is not within our scope of work as a Nutrition Health Coach to diagnose specific medical conditions or to prescribe medication. It is an individual’s personal responsibility to consult directly with their health care provider if they have serious medical conditions.

At the Institute for Integrative Nutrition we cover over 100 different dietary theories & believe in “bio-individuality” – what works for one person may not work for someone else. I work with my clients to find the specific foods that make them feel most vibrant & energetic.

Results vary from person to person & are dependent on many factors such as your individual goals & devotion to the program. While I make every effort to customize the program based on your needs, lifestyle, goals, readiness & willingness to change, there are other factors that are outside our control.

Not at all!  I work with clients who have no major issues but simply want to learn how to life a more balanced life, not just from food but also lifestyle changes. I also work with clients who feel good, but want to feel even better!

A Nutrition Health Coach is not a Nutritionist or a Dietitian, in their profession they tell you what to eat & what not to eat and you either agree to take their advice or not. Coaching is what you reach for when your challenge isn’t in the knowledge of information but implementing it. Health Coaches hold you accountable to the goals you set.

Research shows that people are not necessarily more likely to follow advice when they are simply told what to do. It’s only when we have taken that step to become our best, most radiant version, that we are going to change. In other words…we don’t usually need more information & we don’t necessarily like being told what to do, instead we simply need accountability to establish habits & behaviors change.

6-Month Coaching Program that includes: 

  • 12x 45-minute coaching sessions (twice a month)
  • Handouts & Recipes

  • Callanetics classes
